Navigating family relationships can be challenging, and new issues can arise at various ages and stages of development. Family therapy is a general term that describes therapy sessions that include two or more family members. Here are a few examples:
-parents/legal guardians and one or more minors
-parent/legal guardian and child
-adult siblings-blended families
-extended family
Regardless of who attends, family therapy is a helpful strategy that many families use to address relationship concerns or stressors that affect one or more members. Family therapy can help provide a safe, supportive environment to work through conflict, improve communication, and learn new skills and resources.
Family therapy is available in person at our Southeast Edmonton location, or via telehealth (video) for clients located within Alberta.
