Jensen Pattinson

Canadian Certified Counsellor - MACP CCC

Do you struggle with anxiety, depression, stress or other concerns that are affecting your relationships, work and daily life? Do you feel exhausted, frustrated or overwhelmed by unhealthy patterns such as people pleasing, overthinking or self doubt, yet unsure about how to make a change? If you're looking for support to improve your mental health, I am here to help. In our work together, we will focus on understanding what is happening beneath the surface, including how past experiences may be shaping current thoughts, emotions, and relationships. My approach is client centred and attachment based, and I aim to create a safe space where we can work together toward meaningful change.

I support clients with presenting concerns including: Anxiety, depression, ADHD, grief, PTSD & trauma, relationship issues, BPD, OCD, burnout, parenting, life transitions, career counselling and more. My approach is client centred and attachment-informed. I utilize a variety of modalities including CBT, DBT, strength based-solution focused and mindfulness.

Reaching out for support can feel vulnerable. I am here to support you through the process and we will move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. Together, we will create a treatment plan based on your needs to ensure you feel understood and supported. I provide mental health therapy for individual children (10+), youth, adults, seniors and couples.

Experience

Jensen earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (Honours) in 2017 and has since cultivated a strong background in the non-profit mental health sector. She began her career as a receptionist before advancing to a client care specialist role, where she provided essential support to diverse communities across Edmonton—including individuals experiencing homelessness, those in crisis, newcomers, and students. Her experience as a crisis line supervisor further strengthened her ability to offer empathetic, grounded support during life’s most challenging moments.

Jensen is known for her warm, non-judgmental, and adaptable approach. She integrates evidence-based techniques with genuine curiosity and, when appropriate, a touch of humour to create a safe and welcoming space for healing. Rooted in trauma-informed care, client centred principles, and an attachment-based framework, her practice acknowledges the deep impact of past experiences and relationships on present well-being. Drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Emotion-Focused Therapy, Jensen tailors each session to meet the unique needs of her clients. She believes in exploring the connections between thoughts, emotions, and experiences to foster meaningful insight and empower individuals to take control of their healing journey.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. You don’t need to have all the answers or know exactly where to begin—that’s what we’ll explore together. My role is to support and guide you at a pace that feels comfortable, ensuring you feel heard, understood, and empowered every step of the way.

About

Jensen thrives on experiencing the energy of live concerts, comedy shows, and local festivals. On weekends, you’ll often find her tucked into a cozy corner of a local coffee shop or wandering through the vibrant stalls of a farmer’s market. In her downtime, she enjoys getting lost in a gripping true crime documentary, a suspenseful thriller, or an eerie horror film—or simply unwinding with a good book. A nature lover at heart, Jensen finds peace in long, refreshing walks with her partner and their yellow lab, Darbee. Originally from Ontario and raised near the beach, her love for the water has remained a constant in her life. Passionate about self-care, she enjoys staying active and experimenting in the kitchen—though she fully believes that sometimes, a bowl of cereal makes for the perfect dinner.

Natalie is fantastic! She listens to what I need and has great pressure for deep tissue in those stubborn spots. She keeps the conversation light and takes her cues from me when I’m needing the quiet.
